Uncompromising, cost-effective imagery

The Set Visions creative team have been busy joining forces, producing Photography and CGI imagery for our global client which is bespoke, hand crafted and truly unique. Our multi-skilled team’s creative vision translates across both specialist mediums ensuring our CGI and Photography images are perfectly in parallel and on form. By using both disciplines we delivered the project within budget without compromising quality.

Lincrusta recently approached the team with a fantastic challenge to create editorial content that relies on our Photography studio’s realism and attention to detail whilst exploiting CGI’s ability to render photorealistic architecture and location. By using the same product in both studios we’ve created imaginative product images that do just that!

The styling direction was overseen by our Head of Creative, with our Photography Studio manager keeping a keen eye on the CGI output.

Each deeply embossed paper design is printed blank and applied to the walls ready for the hand painted finish, meaning every fitting is truly bespoke. A great advantage of working with CGI means our teams can re-use 3D assets to easily create alternative images. Below is an example of using the previously created Tropical Leaf paper and combining it with the Trellis, for a coastal take on the designs.

Signature Brand Interior Design

Our inhouse stylists are always keen to establish trend lead styling on any project. With the recent launch of a new glass splashbacks range our stylists were challenged to design images that sit within Laura Ashley’s signature brand look that have a tangible lifestyle feel.

Each splashback image had to sit within specific style houses that appeal to their key core customers. Our team of CGI artists worked closely with our designers to create photorealistic textures and props such as rustic exposed brickwork, even CGI bread! Our designs were critiqued and signed off by Laura Ashley ensuring our images hit the creative lifestyle brief.

The images are now being used in both print and across multiplatform social media sites. For more Pinterest worthy portfolio work visit our CGI portfolio.

bedroom lifestyle CGI Set Visions

We take pride in our R&D department, constantly striving to create fantastic photorealistic CGI images whilst reducing our production time to deliver cost effective results to clients. An example of this is we now work exclusively with CGI bedding and rugs for all bedroom shots.

This enables us to update materials and patterns at a click of a button without the timely wait for dressing beds and reshoots. Our in-house stylists keep a keen eye on the details, ensuring our images are perfectly not perfect from a wrinkle in a bed sheet to a magazine curl.

Our skilled designers treat garden design exactly the same as any interior project with flexibility and function being key to the lifestyle designs. Another benefit is our CGI gardens are everlasting, meaning we’re not subject to the temperamental British Summer. We can revisit and update your product at any point in the year - perfect for any last-minute promotions via POS or brochure.

Logistically saving time and money our CG team can work with sample materials, altering texture variations to immediately increase your CGI asset list. Our eco-friendly summer hats also come on with the use of lifelike plants and greenery saving real plants the harsh conditions of studio photography and the wastage associated. #nationaltileday

Set Visions knows tiles. We work with national tile suppliers across the country and beyond creating aspirational imagery for print, brochure and media campaigns. As a creative image supplier for kitchens and bathrooms companies we incorporate tiles in the majority of our set designs. Essentially, tiles are our bread and butter.

Pix CGI is a perfect fit for tiles. Our CGI artists expertly mirror the shape, texture and lustre in our renders. With just a couple of samples we can create images without the restriction of scale, environment or costly product deliveries.

Capture, our photography studio also specialises in lifestyle tile shots, developing trends with our clients to deliver images that have a great commercial quality. Here’s a selection of our favourite shots illustrating the beauty of ceramic, glass and stone surface design.

Sophisticated muted metallic mix

marble lamps copper metallic floor staning table.

This trending look is all about the muted metallic, mixing in a calm sophisticated way. Last year, strong, bold copper took the high street by storm, but this year we’ll see blush, muted copper mixing with calming golds. This look is all about mixing metallics and harmoniously integrating with the interior design as trend accent.

Mixing metallics as a focal point

Coper bath blush pink tiles grey kitchen

Every room needs a focal point and within the bathroom which has to be the statement bath. Why not get ahead of the rest with a brushed copper or gold bathtub. Offset it with a muted blush pink or grey colour scheme to create a calming look.

Here is an example of the overall trend, with blush pinks and light grey walls adding a softer approach to golds and copper propping. Here mixing metallics in a subtle way can be seen with the tile choice complementing the metallic propping.

Metallic accent in the home

Copper splashback chrome curtain poles

Within kitchens it’s not just the accessories which hint metallics. The big trend coming through uses metallic splashbacks which we will see more of in 2017. It’s a bold look we’ve seen in bespoke kitchens, but look out for some new year contenders who are getting in on the action with more affordable versions!

If large statement metallics are too much for your sense of style why not try simple accessories of the mixed muted metallic trend? A subtle way to add metallics to your home is by adding metals to parts of the room always left until last for decorating, such as curtain poles. See how these muted metals work together in complementary tones, work these across the home.

Understanding the bigger picture

We understand the importance of customer trust and we understand products by building relationships with clients. The kitchen facia is always at the forefront of any kitchen design. Our creative team construct the image using trend research, architectural references and realistic set design. They produce an entire story based around the facia and develop customer personas to ensure your target market can relate to the imagery on a social, economic or geographical level. Engaging with your customer through true photorealistic imagery will sway the purchase decision. Detail shots and cameos are perfect to illustrate the craftsmanship of your product design.

Our set design and prop choices are carefully considered with an extensive library to choose from, creating a bespoke look is easy. Detailed mood boards are created directing the design, trend and art direction. We relish the small details to make the bigger picture.

To get us started we just require a facia sample or drawings and a colour swatch.

Supplier costs are dramatically reduced as production is no longer delayed waiting for expensive samples to be imported. The impact on the environment is minimal as wastage is slashed which cannot be said for traditional set build and deconstruction.

The Set Visions CGI team is made up of a great pool of talent from trained studio photographers, interior design trend spotters to self-taught CGI masters. Our combined history and industry knowledge is key to the consistency and precision of our renders.

Trend Alert-Mixed Materials in the Kitchen

We've been championing the Mixed Materials Trend during 2016 in a lot of our Kitchen images and we believe this trend will only grow in strength during 2017. By bringing natural materials into our home we add a connection to a lifestyle that celebrates and embraces nature and its unique imperfections. Below are some of our favourite examples.

Main

Surface design that mimics nature
middle

The Stone Blue facia utilises the latest technology in surface design. The textured surface of the wood grain effect makes it a great solid wood replica with all the benefits of a laminate. This has been layered with tonal marble and cool greys for an elegant and refined look.

By using the textured Walnut facia in the industrial style kitchen, warmth has been added to the palette. The tactile mix of textured Walnut, embossed tin wall tiles with textured slate lends personality to the clutter free kitchen.

Exposing and unifying the look
bottom

The skylight in the Oak Shaker kitchen is divided by textured wooden beams and exposed sandstone, creating contrasts with the slick finish of the painted plaster. What we choose to expose and hide creates an interesting commentary for any contemporary kitchen.

Mixing materials doesn’t always require contrasting textures. The matt doors, matt walls and semi-matt floor tiles combine the same texture but still allow to stand out in the kitchen. The use of one grey hue ties the look together.
