Neff Case Study – Multiplatform Content Creators

Here at Set Visions, we offer cross platform content for targeted marketing campaigns. Our global client Neff, an international kitchen appliance brand, use our content to inspire and educate potential UK customers, helping to increase their brand’s awareness and generate sales.

The Brief

The set design was carefully considered for this project. Our team created three kitchen layouts that incorporated Neff’s cooking, cooling and washing appliances. Our Head of Creative also lead the interior design and unique cooking stories, making sure the personality behind the iconic brand could be interpreted and understood by the UK market.

As our client was keen to have as much original content as possible, we worked with their marketing department to deliver main images alongside cameos, which gave a more candid feel to the photography style. By updating the images with product variations, we were able to deliver multiple product shots that are in situ and relatable, avoiding the need of sterile white product cut outs.

Following the stills, we then animated the 3D files to produce customer facing videos. These informative shorts gave hidden information about their products and highlighted the ease of use. Each video is based on the series of lifestyle images we created in 3Ds Max and gives our client the ability to advertise their customer base on multiple platforms with a consistent brand message.

The creation of a microsite is a great marketing strategy for the brand. They’re good for search engines and SEO and they can focus on a specific range or brand message. Ecommerce is a competitive place and savvy shoppers know how to research and compare products online before making their purchase. This is why multi-platform content educates, inspires and more importantly, builds shoppers confidence in the brand.

Visualising kitchen designs for TV

CGI is a fantastic tool to visualise concepts and ideas - a recent project saw us take this one step further with our CGI team designing and testing kitchen room sets which were then built and filmed for TV in London.

visualising tv set deisgn

Our long-standing client called upon our expertise in set design, architecture and product knowledge to design two kitchens. The room sets had to sit alongside the new brochure imagery we’ve developed with Wickes, ensuring concepts were on trend and realistic to a family home.

Starting with the design concepts we then created floor plans, artist’s impressions and 3D renders of the space. CGI renders are a tremendous visual tool for communicating with on-site builders, stylists and directors ensuring the art direction is on track before production begins.

Each splashback image had to sit within specific style houses that appeal to their key core customers. Our team of CGI artists worked closely with our designers to create photorealistic textures and props such as rustic exposed brickwork, even CGI bread! Our designs were critiqued and signed off by Laura Ashley ensuring our images hit the creative lifestyle brief.

Sophisticated muted metallic mix

marble lamps copper metallic floor staning table.

This trending look is all about the muted metallic, mixing in a calm sophisticated way. Last year, strong, bold copper took the high street by storm, but this year we’ll see blush, muted copper mixing with calming golds. This look is all about mixing metallics and harmoniously integrating with the interior design as trend accent.

Mixing metallics as a focal point

Coper bath blush pink tiles grey kitchen

Every room needs a focal point and within the bathroom which has to be the statement bath. Why not get ahead of the rest with a brushed copper or gold bathtub. Offset it with a muted blush pink or grey colour scheme to create a calming look.

Here is an example of the overall trend, with blush pinks and light grey walls adding a softer approach to golds and copper propping. Here mixing metallics in a subtle way can be seen with the tile choice complementing the metallic propping.

Metallic accent in the home

Copper splashback chrome curtain poles

Within kitchens it’s not just the accessories which hint metallics. The big trend coming through uses metallic splashbacks which we will see more of in 2017. It’s a bold look we’ve seen in bespoke kitchens, but look out for some new year contenders who are getting in on the action with more affordable versions!

If large statement metallics are too much for your sense of style why not try simple accessories of the mixed muted metallic trend? A subtle way to add metallics to your home is by adding metals to parts of the room always left until last for decorating, such as curtain poles. See how these muted metals work together in complementary tones, work these across the home.

Understanding the bigger picture

We understand the importance of customer trust and we understand products by building relationships with clients. The kitchen facia is always at the forefront of any kitchen design. Our creative team construct the image using trend research, architectural references and realistic set design. They produce an entire story based around the facia and develop customer personas to ensure your target market can relate to the imagery on a social, economic or geographical level. Engaging with your customer through true photorealistic imagery will sway the purchase decision. Detail shots and cameos are perfect to illustrate the craftsmanship of your product design.

Our set design and prop choices are carefully considered with an extensive library to choose from, creating a bespoke look is easy. Detailed mood boards are created directing the design, trend and art direction. We relish the small details to make the bigger picture.

To get us started we just require a facia sample or drawings and a colour swatch.

Supplier costs are dramatically reduced as production is no longer delayed waiting for expensive samples to be imported. The impact on the environment is minimal as wastage is slashed which cannot be said for traditional set build and deconstruction.

The Set Visions CGI team is made up of a great pool of talent from trained studio photographers, interior design trend spotters to self-taught CGI masters. Our combined history and industry knowledge is key to the consistency and precision of our renders.

Trend Alert-Mixed Materials in the Kitchen

We've been championing the Mixed Materials Trend during 2016 in a lot of our Kitchen images and we believe this trend will only grow in strength during 2017. By bringing natural materials into our home we add a connection to a lifestyle that celebrates and embraces nature and its unique imperfections. Below are some of our favourite examples.

Main

Surface design that mimics nature
middle

The Stone Blue facia utilises the latest technology in surface design. The textured surface of the wood grain effect makes it a great solid wood replica with all the benefits of a laminate. This has been layered with tonal marble and cool greys for an elegant and refined look.

By using the textured Walnut facia in the industrial style kitchen, warmth has been added to the palette. The tactile mix of textured Walnut, embossed tin wall tiles with textured slate lends personality to the clutter free kitchen.

Exposing and unifying the look
bottom

The skylight in the Oak Shaker kitchen is divided by textured wooden beams and exposed sandstone, creating contrasts with the slick finish of the painted plaster. What we choose to expose and hide creates an interesting commentary for any contemporary kitchen.

Mixing materials doesn’t always require contrasting textures. The matt doors, matt walls and semi-matt floor tiles combine the same texture but still allow to stand out in the kitchen. The use of one grey hue ties the look together.
